Meet the Match: Ellen Spitzer and Kelsy

Meet Kelsy, a sophomore, at Marion High School, and mentor Ellen Spitzer who meet each week in Project Leadership’s mentoring program, which matches community volunteers with local Twenty-first Century Scholar students.

Career goals: Cosmetology, Veterinarian
Favorite subject: English, Choir.
Favorite book: She Said Yes, Child Called It.
Hobbies/Interests: Orchestra, Writing Poems.
Family: Mom, Sandy; Dad, Scott; brother, Scott Jr.; step Mom, Debbie; step brother, Chavis.
School: Marion High School.

Ellen Spitzer
Career goals: Retired Elementary School Teacher.
Favorite subject: Physics, History.
Favorite book: Alexandr Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago and Jean Lee Latham, Carry on Mr. Bowditch.
Hobbies/interests: Working with young children, dancing, reading.
Family: Husband, Herb; four married children, twelve grandchildren.

Twenty-first Scholars Application Available Online

Just in time for the 2008-2009 school year, the State Student Assistance Commision of Indiana has unveiled an online version of the Twenty-first Century Scholars application. Now 6th, 7th and 8th graders can log on to the internet to complete their application.

Please be aware that the current version of the application is not compatible with Firefox web browsers and Microsoft's Internet Explorer is reccomended.

Hobbies/Interests: Tae-kwon-do, guitar.
