Meet the Match: Jenna McCoy and April

Meet April, a freshman at Marion High School, and mentor Jenna McCoy, who participate in Project Leadership’s mentoring program, which matches community volunteers with local Twenty-first Century Scholar students.

Career goals: Go to college and become a pharmacist.
Favorite subject: Math, science.
Favorite book: Harry Potter series; anything poetry; quotes.
Hobbies/Interests: Sports, hanging out with friends, going to the movies, going swimming.

Jenna McCoy
Career goals: School social worker.

Project Leadership hosts bowling party

More than 80 participants in the Project Leadership mentoring program gathered in February for some recreation and to get to know one another better at a local bowling party. Mentors, students and their parents joined the group for the evening. Project Leadership thanks everyone who participated. It was good to see everyone, and we had a lot of fun.

Career goals: Veterinarian.

Favorite book: I’ll read anything, but I love books about mythical creatures. Hobbies/Interests: Reading, writing, playing the violin and guitar, singing, playing with my cats, going on walks by the river.

Caroline Herman
Career: Registered nurse since 1994, currently work at the VA.
Favorite subjects in high school: Art and science
Favorite book: Who Moved My Cheese? by Spencer Johnson.
Hobbies/interests: Love to travel, helping out my daughters; school, secretary Riverview PTO; Tri Kappa Sorority; Project Leadership; Mary Kay; Brownie Troop Leader.
